Fur real! Millards Fur Service specializes in skins care

Dee Dee Kiser, the owner of Millards Fur Service, nearly closed last year when the economic downturn required her to put money into the business for the first time. But 2010 has been better, she said, and she hopes to hang in there another five years— enough time to train an apprentice to carry on the 62-year tradition that lives right here in Hillcrest

Rolling Readers hosted its 2nd Annual Artists & Authors fundraising event last month at The New Children’s Museum downtown. The charity event brings together gifted artists, such as Janell Cannon, and renowned children’s book authors, such as Gerald McDermott, to celebrate their work and raise money for Rolling Readers’ Read-Aloud and Book Giveaway programs
